What is Chiropractic?
According to The Association of Chiropractic Colleges, "Chiropractic is a health care discipline which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs and surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health."

What are the benefits of chiropractic?

  • spinal and extremity pain relief
  • headache relief
  • increased mobility and range of motion
  • decreased stiffness and muscular spasms
  • arthritic joint pain relief
  • increased joint health
  • increased performance and energy
  • increased sense of well being and relaxation
  • increased balance and coordination
  • reduced degeneration and risk of injury
  • enhanced tissue healing
  • decreased tissue inflammation

What is Accupuncture?
Acupuncture is a 5,000 year old Chinese system of natural healing (No drugs...No surgery), which is concerned with restoring proper energy flow to the various organs, glands and tissues of the body on the premise that most diseases are the result of malfunction due to disrupted energies.

Where does the disruption of energy flow occur?
In either or both locations: (1) in the channels of energy flow, which are located throughout the body, just beneath the skin surface; (2) In the spinal column where vertebrae may become misaligned, thereby compressing vital nerve trunks.

What are some conditions commonly treated by acupuncture?
Textbook listed conditions run into the thousands.  Typical ailments usually responding to acupuncture health care include:

  • Back, Neck & Shoulder Pain
  • Women's Health Issues
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches, Migraines
  • Acute & Chronic Pain
  • Digestive Problems
  • Stress
  • Post-Stroke Recovery
  • Fatigue, Insomnia
  • Surgery & Injury Rehabilitation
  • Anxiety, Depression
  • Sprains & Sports Injuries
  • Carpal Tunnel

The above list may seem long as though acupuncture were a panacea.  The truth is that most textbooks list over two thousand diseases.  Please be mindful of the fact that acupuncture is not like one drug used for one condition, but on the contrary, it is a complete healing art within itself, concerned with the systems of the body such as nervous, circulatory, digestive, respiratory, eliminatory, reproductive, hormonal, musculoskeletal, etc. and seeks to correct health problems with those systems.

What is Contact Reflex Analysis (CRA)?
Contact Reflex Analysis (CRA), simply stated, is an energy connection. It is a technique that utilizes a muscle response as an indicator and assessment of the energy status of each organ, gland, system, or structure. This energy assessment is accomplished by testing one or more reflexes, which are similar to acupuncture points and meridians, and monitoring the reactance of the muscle when in contact with these points. The more the body reacts when an energy imbalance is located, the weaker the muscle. In CRA the practitioner typically applies a single, downward push on the wrist of a patient's outstretched arm while also making contact with a specific reflex point on the patient's body. The gentle, but firm push is like a subtle "question" and the muscle reactivity response is the "answer."

What is Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is an age-old remedy which has proven to be an effective complement to chiropractic care.  Both are holistic in nature, and are based on belief in the innate healing power of the body.  Together, chiropractic and massage facilitate the natural healing process by keeping the body in proper alignment and ensuring free flow of nerve impulses and circulation of fluids.

Problems in the musculo-skeletal system can impede the natural healing process, and often cause dysfunction and pain.  Most chiropractic doctors would agree that it is important to treat soft tissues such as muscles and tendons to help prevent and correct subluxations, and lessen the accompanying pain.  Together, chiropractic and massage provide you with a more complete and effective system of health care.

Massage Therapy:

  • Increases the effectiveness of chiropractic adjustments
  • Aids in preparing the body for chiropractic adjustments
  • Helps relieve pain in muscles and related soft tissues
  • Helps prevent future problems

What are the benefits of massage therapy?
The therapeutic effects of massage are recognized by personal and clinical experience, and supported by scientific research.  They include:

  • General relaxation
  • Improved circulation
  • Muscle relaxation
  • Alleviation of certain kinds of muscular pain
  • Improvement in cellular nutrition
  • Relief from the negative effects of stress
  • Reduction of anxiety
